A History of Orthopaedics in Australia
1980–2016

Commissioned by the AOA Board as part of the celebration of AOA’s 80th anniversary, author Catharine Retter worked collaboratively with members of the orthopaedic surgical community throughout 2016 to document the story of the profession through this period of intense scientific, technological and social development. This book seeks to help preserve the collective experience and knowledge of the Australian orthopaedic community since the early 1980s, complementing the prior history recorded in Hugh Barry's Orthopaedics in Australia: the history of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
