Associated orthopaedic organisations

AOA is associated with national and international orthopaedic and trauma organisations.

Orthopaedic Outreach

Orthopaedic Outreach’s principal goal is to provide surgical training and services to the under-developed countries to our north. Australian orthopaedic surgeons, nurses and others give their time freely to work and train those in under-developed countries – activities are funded entirely by donation, particularly from the corporate world, Rotary and the surgeons themselves.

Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA)

The Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA) is a regional organisation of orthopaedic surgeons mainly from the Asia Pacific region. Currently, APOA has 24 member chapters and more than 59,000 members from over 40 countries.

Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons (ASOS)

Founded in 1977, the Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons (ASOS) is an association of practising orthopaedic surgeons across all specialties.

International Orthopaedic Diversity Alliance (IODA)

IODA is an international collaboration with a vision to unite leaders in orthopaedic surgery and industry to promote diversity, equity and inclusion. IODA's website is a 'diversity hub' to connect diversity advocates, promote events, support research and to provide resources through their extensive library of diversity literature, webinars and podcasts.
