AOA diversity mentors

AOA offers the opportunity for medical students, junior doctors and unaccredited orthopaedic trainees to connect with mentors from AOA's diversity groups: Orthopaedic Women's Link (OWL), the Champions of Change Working Group, and the Cultural Inclusion Working Group.

Our goal is to help individuals from under-represented groups in orthopaedics and connect them with mentors who are allies and understand and recognise differences as an opportunity to learn and can help mentees navigate their interest in a career in surgery and orthopaedics.

What you can expect

The opportunity to connect with an AOA diversity mentor via direct contact or a small group session held online.
Resources and materials to support your interest in a career in orthopaedic surgery.
Event invitations and access to activities run specifically for minority groups by AOA or partner/sponsor organisations who collaborate with AOA’s diversity groups.
