Branch Scientific Meeting and Social Function

The 2023 Branch Scientific Meeting was held on 18 February at Perth Children's Hospital. With a remarkable turnout of 82 attendees, including members, training registrars, and service registrars from all across WA, the meeting proved to be an exceptional gathering. Under the guidance and leadership of Scientific Secretary Peter D'Alessandro, the event showcased 17 outstanding junior papers.


OWL Workshop

On 1 June AOA OWL held a workshop at RACS HQ. Led by Richard Carey Smith and Eleanor Houghton and supported by Kate Stannage, the workshop welcomed 35 female medical students from universities across Perth. With strong engagement with the workshop's hands-on skills stations, a panel Q&A, and presentations, the future of orthopaedics in WA is looking very promising.


Tri-State ASM

The 2023 AOA Inaugural SA/NT/WA Tri-State Annual Scientific Meeting was held from 17–20 August at the Darwin Convention Centre in the NT.

October Member Dinner

As the year comes to a close, it's the perfect time to congratulate our graduating trainees, welcome our new ones, and celebrate the milestones we've achieved as a remarkable community.

The WA Member Dinner was held on Saturday 14 October at the Matilda Bay Restaurant.
