2023 WA Branch Scientific Papers Day

Dear Colleague,

As I commence my term as the WA Branch Scientific Convener, it is with pleasure that I welcome you to register your abstract and attendance at the WA Branch Scientific Papers Day to be held at the Perth Children's Hospital on Saturday 18 February 2023, followed by a twilight social function on the South Perth foreshore.

Under the guidance of my predecessor Gareth Prosser, this event has continued to grow in stature, providing an outstanding representation of the high quality research being undertaken in Western Australia. The leading paper will be awarded the prestigious Alan Skirving Prize.

I am confident that the 2023 edition will once again include thought provoking presentations and stimulating discussion and of course the opportunity to catch up with colleagues.

It will also provide an excellent springboard into a Scientific year that will have as a highlight the Tri-State ASM to be held in Darwin in late August.

I encourage you all to attend and show your support for our local research and Orthopaedic community.

None of us do this alone, and the Branch Scientific Papers Day is a great forum to acknowledge our junior colleagues who are at various stages of their Orthopaedic Journey.

Finally, as part of our community engagement and social responsibility program, we have also decided that each year the AOA Scientific Program in WA will be supporting a different charity, commencing with the Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health https://fish.asn.au throughout 2023.

I thank you in advance for your generosity and contribution to this worthy cause.

I look forward to welcoming you to the meeting and a fabulous day both academically and socially.

Peter D'Alessandro (WA Branch Scientific Convenor)
