The NSW branch of the AOA are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of members of the medical profession and the community.

The physical and psychological benefits of exercise have been well documented in improving mood, concentration and relieving tension and stress.

During our ASM we encourage and support everyone attending to take part in PARKRUN NEWY on the Saturday morning.

What is parkrun?

Parkrun is a free timed community event where you can run, walk, jog or volunteer for 5km.

Parkrun takes place every Saturday morning.

Parkrun is positive, welcoming and inclusive. There is no time limits and no one finished last.

When is it?

Parkrun is at 8am on Saturday morning. There is more than enough time to complete before the conference starts on Saturday morning.

Registration is optional but necessary to obtain a time. Jump on line, its free!

Where is it?

Park run has 461 locations in Australia but Newy is one of the biggest with on average 400 runners each week. It is a flat course 3.5 km from Newcastle City hall.

We encourage everyone registering for the NSW AOA ASM 2023 to also register and attend parkrun!

If you can run or walk 5 km, Volunteer!! Grab your friends and colleagues and jog together!

Prizes will be awarded. You must have a barcode and record a time to be eligible for a prize.
