COVID-19 Safe

As the Australian government builds a COVID Safe Australia, everyone must continue to practise physical distancing and good hygiene, and stay at home if you are sick. By registering as an Onsite delegate, you agree to abide by the Australian and State government COVID Restrictions at the time which may include social distancing, mask wearing, hand sanitisation and scanning the QR code on arrival to the conference. The venue is capped due to Government Restrictions.

AOA is committed to protecting the health and safety of AOA members and delegates attending the AOA SA OWL Workshop, subsequently we are taking a number of pre-cautions in order to keep you safe whilst attending the event. The venue has provided their COVID-19 safe plan, which adheres to the relevant NSW State Government guidelines. AOA is committed to adhering to the venue’s COVID-19 safe plan. 

COVID-19 events vaccination policy

The policy details AOA's requirement for all scientific meetings and events that attendees be vaccinated against COVID-19.

In order to attend the AOA event, the policy states attendees are required to;

  • Adhere to any state or federal government COVID-19 requirements that may be in force in the jurisdiction where the event is being held; 
  • Be fully vaccinated against COVID-19; 
  • Be able to produce proof of vaccination when requested at the venue

As general advice for those registering now for the AOA OWL Workshop, you will not be permitted to attend the meeting if:

  • You have the following symptoms, however mild: fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, and loss of sense of smell or taste, please do not enter the venue. Get tested and quarantine at home until you receive your test results.
  • You are unwell with any other COVID-19 symptoms (you can use the healthdirect COVID-19 restriction checker tool here).
  • You are currently in a period of self-isolation following a positive COVID-19 test
  • You have been in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case in the past 14 days
  • You are unwell with any other COVID-19 symptoms (you can use the healthdirect COVID-19 restriction checker tool here).
  • You have travelled to an identified COVID-19 hotspot, returned from overseas or from a cruise in the last 14 days
  • You have been in contact with anyone that may have travelled overseas in the last 14 days
