As you know clinical Orthopaedics and related research has a close relationship with ISOLS as our proceedings publishing magazine. This means that the proceedings of ISOLS2024 will be published in clinical Orthopaedics and related research, but only selected articles after reviewer determination, and I encourage you to get your abstract ready, and have it in the highest preparatory form.

To assist with preparation of the high-quality abstracts that will assist with later reviewer determination about their eligibility for publication in the ISOLS2024 proceedings. I encourage you to use the Clinical Orthopaedics and related research homepage, create a login if you don't already have one, and then use the tools on the right hand side of the page to assess your abstracts current merits, and prior to improve by meeting the various criteria (the tools are provided in the illustration).  CORR's home page click here

A new approach - This conference we will be using a new abstract format that some of you may have already experienced at other medical meetings. All authors and attendees will be involved interactively and listen to original recorded abstracts at their leisure in the 2 weeks (date to be confirmed) preceding the meeting, The meeting will commence online in late September virtually for only registered attendees, and proceed to face- to-face in Brisbane where we can catch up with old friends as well.

Why? We have listened to your feedback from past meetings and responding with a fresh approach. Feedback from previous meetings has confirmed that there had been too many concurrent rooms, variable quality papers, and attendees couldn’t get to all the papers they wanted to listen to.

New Process After closing, abstract review and potential acceptance, all accepted abstracts will be required to upload a pre-recorded 3-minute presentation by 1 July 2024.

The pre-recorded presentation will then be stored in a secured (password protected) area of our new conference App . Only registered delegates will have access to watch the pre-records prior to and during 2024ISOLS. Delegates will be able to submit online questions and interact with abstract authors through our new innovative conference App. Similar to “Instagram”, however, this will be a private scientific interaction with our own ISOLS academic influencers from our society guiding responses and comments for all to be involved together. The overall aim is to stimulate discussion and together “vote” on the best papers to be presented live on-site!

It is important to note: Authors of all papers will also be required to be on-site for 2024ISOLS as the selected best papers (total number to be determined) will be invited just prior to commencement of the meeting to participate in an on-site presentation. This will also involve a panellist session.

To be eligible for on-site presentation, the ISOL’S Committee will assess pre-recorded presentations based on the most “liked”  presentations and including but not limited to the interactivity of abstract authors as well as the questioned papers that provoke the most academic discussion. The prize for the best voted paper will receive a reimbursement of their registration fees for 2024ISOLS!

Once abstracts are assessed and accepted further details will be distributed regarding the pre-recorded presentation submission process and selection criteria for on-site presentation.

Please note: *there will be limited podium presentations of individual original abstracts unless essential and verified for institutional attendance support funding in different forums.

** Please submit your abstract via the online form on this page.

Paper or facsimile copies will not be accepted.
